RESOLUTION NO. 34-68
r,mEREAS, on June 17, 1968, upon the petition of sundry electors,
the Board of Commissioners of Jefferson County, ;'lashington, held a
public hearing thereon, to-wi t: on the question of the formation
of a fire protection district to be Known as Jefferson County fire
Protection District No.4, more particularly described as follows:
Sections 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20,
21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30, 31, and 32 in Township 25 North,
hange 2 Jest, ~est Meridian; Sections 28, 29, 30, 33, 34,
and ?5 in ~ovmship ~6 North,. Lange, 2r:\'est" ~'lest M~ridia~;
Sect~ons 23 and 24 ~n Townsh~p 26 North, Lange 3 ".est, :Jest
.',eridian; and striking a line off shore from ~jection 35,
Tov.nship 26 North, Eange 2 "Jest, \Test M.eridian, in Hood Canal
south to the Mason County line, all lying and being in
Jefferson County,
comprising a portion_of the voting precinct of Brinnon, and proof
having been made to the satisfaction of this Board that notice was
given in the manner provided by law, and no objections having been
made or filed, the 30ard, by Resolution No. 2l-68A ordered a special
election to be held on Tuesday, the 17th day of September, and due
to lack of turn out in the September election, along with the fear
that the fire District issue may have been overlooked by people
using the voting machine for the first time, another special election
\vas ordered held on November 5, 1968, due to the reguest of the
Brinnon Volunteer Fire Department, to determine whet-her the di strict
shall be organized, and
~]HEREAS, after an electection called for the purpose in pursuance to
the terms of said Eesolution, the County Auditor for Jefferson County
under date of November 18, 1968, made and returned to this board her
canvas of the vote cast at such election, all of which being now on
file with this Board is hereby referred to and by reference made a part
of this resolution, therefore,
dE IT RESULVED, that the area hereinbefore described be and the
same is hereby declared duly organized as a fire protection district;
that the same is offi cially designated as JEFFERSON COUl\TY FlEE
PEuTEC1IuN Dl3TElCT IW. 4, and that Harry Loring, Louis Pennini, and
:~ichard ':!eiler, having received the highest number of votes cast for
fire commissioners of said district, be and they are hereby declared
the duly elected first commissioners of the district.
BE IT FUETHEH RESULVED that the Clerk of this Board of County
Commissioners shall certify a copy of this resolution and file it
for record in the office of the County Auditor and the County
Assessor.
