~"THEREAS, responsibilities of the Jefferson County
Sheriff's Office have proG~essively become more exacting by
virtue of court decisions concerning criminal law and rights
of accused,
and 1nIER}~~S, apathetic attitudes have generated an increase
in the use of dangerous drugs and narcotics,
and >!HEREAS, to properly execute responsibilities of the
office, the Sheriff and Deputies were rec1uired to attend schools
ffi1d seminars for orientation,
and \lHEREAS, the attendance of schools and seminars reouired
regular personnel to be absent from the County,
and \~ISREAS, the absence of regular personnel imposed additional
duty on those remaining, it was necessarJ to employ extra help,
and ifHR~EAS, by virtue of above circumstances, the Salaries
and Wages portion of the Sheriff's 1968 Operating Budget has been
exceeded in the amount of $546.00,
and V~S, unforeseen expenditures relative to Sheriff's
Department Vehicle li~intenance has created a deficit of $750.00
in the Operation and I~intenance portion of the Sheriff's 1968
Operating Budget,
and YlHEREAS, it was necessary to purchase a ,new clothes
dryer for jail laundry use, thereby generating a Capitol Outlay
deficit in the amount of $397.05,
and '.':'HEREAS, above circumstances could not have been foreseen,
BE IT RESOLVED, that ~~546.00 be transferred from monies
in the Current Expense Fund to the Salaries and \~ages portion of
the Sheriff's 1968 Operating Budget,
and B:r~ rrr FUllTHER RESOLV,B;D, that monies in the amount of
$750.00 be transferred from Current Expense in to the (}peration
and h~intelli~nce portion of the Sheriff's 1968 Operating Budget,
and BE rrr .r,lUH'l'I1ill RESOLVED, that monies in the amount of
~397 .05 be transferred fro:'! Current Expense into the Capitol Outlay
portion of the Sheriff' ~ 1,)68 Operating Budget.
