RESOLUTION NO.. D -I ~
WHEREAS" The Jefferson County Highway Department has need of approx-
imatEl~ 1000 tons of asphalt road patching material at the present time , and
'WHEREAS, the asphalt mixing plant needed to manufacture said material is
a very specialized apparatus, being available in the Jefferson County area on
a very limited time schedule, and
WHEREAS;.':''f>he Washington Asphalt Comparw1s mixing plant., capable of
accomplishing said work, will be available in the Jefferson County area during
the first part of September" 1967, and
WHEREAS, past records show that this material was last produced in November.
of 1965, on contract, W1th J. D. Shotwell Co 0 at a unit cost of $6.25 per ton

plus tax delivered to the.. stockpile site at the Highway Shop at Chimacum, and
'WHEREAS, The Washington Asphalt Co.. has proposed to produce the required
asphalt materials and de'liver said materials to the stockpile site at the
Highway Shop at Chimacu.n1 for the consideration of $5.75 per ton plus tax
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Jefferson County Commissioners
hereby authorize the Jefferson County Engineer to negotiate a contraet with the
Washington Asphalt Co. to:'produce and deliver approximately 1000 tons of asphalt
road patching materials to the Highway S):1op at Chim8cum at a unit cost of .5.75
per ton plus tax.
