HomeMy WebLinkAboutC 637 ..".' ... 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 . e BEFORE THE HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOR JEFFERSON COUNTY, STATE OF WASHINGTON In the Matter of the Proposed Incorporation of the TOWN OF HADLOCK RESOLUTION NO. 1:-(,37 f RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING That an Election Be Conducted as Directed by ROW 35.02.080 The Board of County Commdssioners for Jefferson County having heretofore established and defined the boundaries of the proposed Town of Hadlock, and ascertained the number of inhabitants within said boundaries, now therefore BE IT RESOLVED, That the County Auditor for Jefferson County be, and she is hereby directed to call an election on Tuesday, the 17th day of May, 1966, within the area, to determine whether it shall be incorporated, and to fill the various elective offices prescribed by law for towns of the fourth class, upon notice to be given of an incorporation election in accordance with ROW 29.27.080, such notice to include 1. The title of each office; 2. The names and addresses of all candidates listed separately with the designation of the offices for which they are candidates but without party designation; such offices to include: (a) (b) " The office Mayor '" Five Councilmen (c) The of~ice o~ Treasurer; 3. The ballot title; 4. Hours during which the polls will be open; 5. Location and address o~ the polling place; o~~ ?".JI#I'<'-- ...;;i: ...... 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 e e 1 2 3 and in addition describe' the boundaries of the proposed town, its name, and number of inhabitants as ascertained by the Board of County Commissioners to reside therein, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, for the guidance of all persons and parties interested, that a copy of this resolution be published once in the Port Townsend Leader in order that the following statutory information be disseminated: Candidates for elective office: 1. Are to file a declaration of candidacy with the County Auditor not more than forty-five nor less than thirty days prior to the election; 2. May be charged no filing fees at the incorporation election; 3. May withdraw their declaration at any time within five days after the last day allowed for filing; 4. Have their names printed on the ballot in alphabeti- cal groups under the designation of the respective offices for which they file (the names need not be rotated); 5. Are to be non-partisan. The incorporation election may be participated in only by qualified voters of Jefferson County, resident within the limits of the proposed town for at least thirty days next preceding the election.
