WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington, acting as
Agent of and for the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the
United States of America, is desirous of constructing a

WHEREAS, the Department of Hiehways of the State JfWashington, acting.as
Agent for the United States Bureau of Public ~oads, is desirous of receiving Fed-
eral funds for the improvement of said road, and
WHEREAS, the said Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of
the United States of America will not participate in the construction of said road
until and unless the County of Jefferson will agree to refrain from permitting
encroachment upon the right of way of said above-mentioned road, and until and un-
less the County of Jefterson will agree to- refrain from passing resolutions
affecting the free rlow of traffic on said above-mentioned road or that will give
preference to local routes whichointersect with said road, other than by the erec-
tion or installation of "slowll and/or "cautionU signs or signals, or that will un-
reasonably hinder or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, and until and un-
less the County of Jefferson will agree, by suitable resolution, to adopt the
grades of the improvement as the grades of the county road that is involved, and
agree to protect the State of Washington against any and all claims for damages on
account of any changes of grades and the constructian of this improvement, and un-
til and unless the County of Jefferson. wi.ll agree to maintain said improve-
ment wi thin the limi. ts of the County of JetterlSoR after the improvement has
been completed; ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners ofJetferson
County that for and in consideration of the Department of Highways of the
State of Washington and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of
the United States of America constructing said road and routing traffic on same
over and across

JeUerson County hereby agrees with the Department of Highways of the .:>tate
01' Washington and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the
United St.ates of America that it will not, in the future, permit encroachments on
the right of way of the said above-mentioned road, nor will it pass any resolutions
affecting the free flow of traffic on said above-mentioned road or that will give
preference to local routes which intersect with said road, other than by the erec-
tion or installation of "s1owtf and/or "caution" signs or signals, or that will slow
up, unreasonably hinder, or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, and that it
will, by suitable resolution, adopt the grades of the improvement as the grades of
the county road that is involved, and hereby agrees to protect the State of Wash-
ington against any and all claims for damages on account of changes of grades and
the construction of this improvement, and hereby further agrees to maintain said
improvement wi thin the limits of the County of J etfersOB after this improve-
ment has been completed.
