L..:_.6 00 A RESOLUTION of the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, Washington, retaining counsel for certain services in connection with the authorization, issuance and sale of unlimited tax levy general obligation bonds of the County in the principal amount of $30,000. WHEREAS, on March 16, 1964, this Board adopted its Resolution No. C-582, retaining Preston, Thorgrimson, Horowitz, Starin & Ellis, bond counsel of Seattle, Washington, to draw all documents necessary for a proposition to be submitted to the qualified electors of the County at a special election to be held therein on September 15, 1964, of whether or not the County should issue its unlimited tax levy general obligation bonds in the principal sum of $40,000 to install an elevator in the County Courthouse; and WHEREAS, said Resolution No. C-582 fixed the fee of said bond counsel at the sum of $400 for drawing all proceedings necessary for the authorization, issuance and sale of said bonds and for giving their opinion as to the va~idity thereof at the time of their sale, and further provided that said counsel would be paid the sum of $100 only, for the services rendered to the date of the election, if said propo- sition was not approved by the qualified electors of the County; and WHEREAS, said proposition was not approved by the qualified electors of the County at said special election and said bond counsel did perform the services required of them so that there is now due and owing them the sum of $100 by the County; and WHEREAS, this Board has decided to again submit a proposition to the qualified electors of the County at a special election to be held therein on November 3, 1964 of whether or not it should issue its un- limited tax levy general obligation bonds in the total principal sum of $30,000 to provide funds to pay the cost of acquiring and installing such elevator, and has also decided to employ said bond counsel to draw the ........ . ... e e .- ". proceedings necessary for the authorization, issuance and sale of said bonds and to give their opinion as to the validity thereof at the time of their sale; and WHEREAS, said bond counsel have agreed that the total amount due them for services rendered in this matter to the date of said September 15 election and for all services to be rendered by them in the matter of the authorization, issuance and sale of said $30,000 of bonds and for their opinion as to the validity of such bonds at the time of their sale shall be the sum of $400; NOW # THEREFORE# BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, Washington, as follows: That Preston, Thorgrimson, Horowitz, Starin & Ellis, bond counsel of Seattle, Washington, be and they are hereby retained to draw all the resolutions, notices and other documents necessary for the authorization, issuance and sale of $30,000 of unlimited tax levy general obligation bonds of the County and to give their opinion as to the validity thereof at the time of their sale. As compensation for services rendered by such counsel in the matter of the authorization of $40,000 of unlimited tax levy general obligation bonds of the County to the date of September 15, 1964, and for the above-mentioned services, Jefferson County agrees to pay such counsel the sum of $400. In addition thereto the County agrees to reimburse said counsel for any out-of-pocket expenses such as long distance telephone tolls which they may incur in the performance of said services, and the County also agrees to furnish said counsel at their office in Seattle, Washington, with a complete certified transcript of all proceedings taken in the matter of the issuance of said bonds. In the event the proposition authorizing the issuance of said bonds for such purpose fails to carry, the County agrees to pay said counsel the sum of $150, which shall be compensation in full for 2. .. .. . -- ..-, . .. all services rendered to the date of the November 3, 1964 election, plus all out-of-pocket expenses which may have been incurred by such counsel to said election date.
