A RESOLUTION of the Board of County Commissioners
of Jefferson County, Washington, providing for
the submission to the qualified electors of the
County at a special election to be held therein
on November 3, 1964 of a proposition of whether
or not the County should issue its unlimited tax
levy general obligation bonds in the principal
amount of $30,000 for the purpose of providing
funds to acquire and install an elevator in the
present County Courthouse.
WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and advisable that an
elevator be acquired and installed in the present County Courthouse;
and
WHEREAS, in order to provide funds to pay the cost of
acquiring and installing such elevator it is deemed necessary and
advisable that the County issue its unlimited tax levy general
obligation bonds in the principal sum of $30,000; and
WHEREAS, the Constitution and laws of the State of washington
require that the question of whether or not such bonds may be issued
for such purpose must be submitted to the qualified electors of the
County for their ratification or rejection;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Jefferson County, Washington, as follows:
Section 1. It is hereby found and declared that the public
welfare, health, convenience and safety require the County to acquire
and install an elevator to run from the basement to the third floor
in the present Jefferson County Courthouse located in Port Townsend,
washington.
Section 2. For the purpose of providing funds necessary
to carry out the above-described plan of capital improvements, the
County shall issue and sell its unlimited tax levy general obligation
bonds in the principal amount of $30,00.0. Said bonds shall bear

interest at a rate of not to exceed 6% per annum, and shall mature
serially in from two to fifteen years from date of issue. Both
principal of and interest on said bonds shall be payable out of
annual tax levies to be made upon all the taxable property within
the County without limitation as to rate or amount. The exact date,
form, terms and maturities of said bonds shall be as hereafter fixed
by resolution of the Board of County Commissioners.
Section 3. It is hereby found and declared that an emergency
exists requiring the submission to the qualified electors of the County
at a special election to be held therein on the 3d day of November,
1964, of the proposition of whether or not it should sell such bonds
for such purpose.
The Jefferson County Auditor, as ex officio Supervisor of
Elections for Jefferson County, is hereby requested to also find the
existence of such emergency and to call and conduct said special
election to be held within the County on said date and to submit
to the qualified electors of the County at said special election
the following proposition:
PROPOSITION
COUNTY COURTHOUSE IMPROVEMENT BONDS I $30,000
Shall Jefferson County, Washington, issue its general
obligation bonds in the principal sum of $30,000, such bonds
to bear interest at a rate of not to exceed 6% per annum, to
mature serially in from two to fifteen years from date of
issue, and to be paid both principal and interest out of
annual tax levies to be made without limitation as to rate
or amount, for the purpose of providing funds to acquire
and install an elevator in the County Courthouse, all as
more specifically provided in a resolution of the Board of
County Commissioners adopted OCtober 5, 19641
