RESOLUTION NO. C - 492
This matter came on to be heard Monday, February 5th,
1962, at the hour of 2:00 P. M., at the Commissioners'
Room in the Courthouse, Port Townsend, Washington, pursuant
to Notice of Intention to Lease the following described
county land, to-wit:
The east 660 feet of the SEt of the SW; and
the west 330 feet of the swi of the SE!,
section S, township 30 north, range 1 West,
W. M.,
to the City of Port Townsend, a municipal corporation, for
municipal purposes, viz: the maintenance and operation of
a site for the disposal of garbage and refuse, the same to
be projected in the nature of an earth compacted sanitary

the nature of a petition signed by twenty-one individuals,
representing approximately ten or eleven family units,
many of whom reside at considerable distance from the pro-
posed site) was received by the Board. The said objection
or petition directs itself to possible menace to health
and safety and to the probable depreciation in value of
adjacent property, and to which the Board gave careful
consideration, viewing it of course in relation to the
statutory duty of the City of Port Townsend in the particu-
lar, and the responsibility that this Board of County Com-
missioners owes to all its citizens, with the conclusion
that the objection is not well taken, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the application of the City of
Port Townsend to lease the lands hereinbefore described
be and the same is hereby accepted in the ~blic interest,
and the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners and

1 the County Auditor, be and they are hereby authorized and
2 empowered to execute, in duplicate, a lease to t he lands
3 applied for, upon such terms and conditions as the Board
4 may seem just and right in the premises, such lease to be
5 formally executed wi thin thirty (30) days from date hereof,
6 and
7 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in conformity with RCW
8 36.34.170 this resolution be published one in the Port
9 Townsend Leader on the date of its next regular issue.
