RESOLUTION NO. C-502
WHEREAS after due consideration, it appears to this Board of County Commissioners
that it' is not in the public interest to continue to maintain as a part of the
county road s,ystem:
11 All those portions of the old Woodman to Chimacum (Anderson Lake)
road, including the Riley Logging .Road, through sections 9, 10, 15 and
16, T. 29 N., R. 1 W., W .M.; outside of the right of wBiY' of the present.
Anderson Lake Road constructed under C .R.P. No. 194, approved October
19, 1959 and C.R.P. No. 212, approved February 6, 1961; and except,ing
also the approach to the Chimacum Hest Valley Road (Co. Rd" No. 22-5.45)
2. All that portion of the old Stutler Hill road through the West t of
the NE-i of Sec. 26, T. 28 N., R. 2 vI., W.N. which was replaced blJ the
construction of the new Stutler Hill road (Lords Lake Road, County Road
No. 30) under C.R.P. No. 108 approved June 2~ 1952. Also that portion of
County Road No. 30 through the NEi of the SW4 of Sec. 22, T. 28 N., R.
2 W., W.M. replaced by the construction of C.R.P. 159 approved February
4, 1957. .
3. All those portions of the old Chimacum v.Test Valley road replaced by
construction of the present e.:x:i.sting road (Co. Rd. No. 22) as follows:
Through the E! of the SE! of Sec. 33 and the 'VTt of the sw1 of Sec. 34 of
T. 29 N., R. 1 W., W.M. replaced by C.R.P. No. 65 LF approved December
8, 1944;
Through sections 27 and 31.~, T. 29 N., R. 1 W., W.M., replaced by C .R.P.
No.6, approved November, 1938;
Through the SE! of Sec. 22, T. 29 N., R. 1 W., W.11., replaced by Second-
ary Road Project No. 15, approved June 6, 1935;
Through the E'~ of Sec. 15, T. 29 N., R. 1 V.I., W.M., replaced by C.R.P.
No. 14, approved April 11, 1939.
4. All those portions of the old Quilcene-Center road from the west line
of the SEi of the NE~ of Sec. 13, T. 27 N., R. 2 W., W.H. northerly to the
junction of the Griffith and Dabob Roads in the NE~ of the NE! of Sec. 6,
T. 27 N., R. 1 W., W.H., except, the Quilcene Garbage Dump Road (Co. Rd.
No. 18-2.05); said old roads being replaced by C.R.P. No. 133, approved
February 11, 1955, and C.R.P. No. ;139 approved July 8, 1955.
5. All those portions of the old Gri~fith road through the NEi of the
NWlof' Sec. 29, the S~i of the SWi, the vi! of" the SEi and the swi of the
NE'4 of Sec. 20, all J.ll T. 28 N., R. 1 W., W.l,I., replaced by the construct-
ion of C.R.P. No. 86, approved August 5, 1948;
Also ~hrough the NEl of the SEl and the. SE! of' the ~ of Sec. 17, T. 28 N.,
R. 1 v~., WoN. replaced by the constructJ.on of C.R.P. No. 148, approved
April 16, 1956.
6. That port.ion of the Old Garbage' Dump Road (Co. Rd. No. 40-6.21) northerJ.y
of the Junction with the HcHinn Road in Lot 4, Sec. 6, T. 30 N., R. 1 W.
W.N:.; also the br anch thereof extending to the easterJ.y portion of the ~ld
dump area.
7. That portion of the old Port Tormsend-Chimacum road (Co. Rd. No 12-0 00)
in th~ wt of the SWi of Sec. 21, T. 30 N., R. 1 W., W.N., lying westerly ~f
the nght of way of P.S.H. No.9.,

construction of C.R.P. No. 20, approved October 6, 1939, and re-

the "Drive-in Theater Road" (CooRd. No. 12-0.19).
9. That portion of the Old Discovery Road (Co. Rd. No. 42-0.43-0.18) and
that portion of the old Arcadia-Cape George Road (Co. Rd. No. 42-o.h3)
from the Jacob 1-1iller Road (Co. Rd. No. ~.2) in Sec. 16 to junctions m.th
the present Arcadia-Cape George Road (Co. Rd. No. 98) in Sec. 17, all in
T. 30 N., R. 1 W., W.M.j both replaced by the construction of C.R.P. No.
92, approved November 8, 19~.9j excepting platted streets in the Irving
Park Addition.
10. The Old Andy Cooper road running along the north boundary of Sec. 27,
T. 28 N., R. 1 E., It/.N.j from the Teal Lake Road to the plat of Paradise
View Estates, including that portion deeded to Jefferson County by Puget
lfill Co., June 20, 19ho, and rec!,rded on page 338 of Volume III of Deeds,
records of Jefferson County, Washington
11. The Harris Road (Co. Rd. No. 66) being a portion of old P.S.H. No.9
in Sec. 2, T. 25 N., R. 2 l.v., W.H., from an intersection with the present
P.S.H. No.9 appro:x:i.mately one-quarter mile south of the Doseuallips Bridge,
running thence northwesterly for approrlmately four-cenths mile to the old
bridge site at the Dosewallips River.
12. That portion of the Lower Hoh Road (Co. Rd. No. 212) from the north
bank of the existing charmel of the Hoh River in Lot 5, Sec. 22, T. 26 N.,
R. 13 W., W.H.j thence southeasterly approximately one-half mile to the
old channel of the Hoh River, which is the present channel of Braden Creek
at the location of the old LOl-Ter Hoh suspension bridge.
13. That portion of the old Co;rle Hill road from the easter~ end of the
Broshears Road (Co. Rd. No. 16-3.99-0.89) thence easter~ and southerly
through sections 4, 3 and 10 to its junction with the present Coyle Road
(Co. Rd. No. 16) in the NEi of the NEt. of Sec. 10, all in T. 27 N., R. 1 W.,
W.M.
14. Those portions of the old Swansonvil1e road in sections 5, 8 and 9,
T. 28 N., R. 1 E., W.}1. outside of the right of way of the present road
(Co. Rd. No. 90), relocated and replaced by the construction of C.R.P. No. 93,
approved December 19, 1949j C.H.!? No. 100, approved February 9, 1951j C.H.P.
No. 105, approved April, 1952j and C.R.P. No. 145, approved December 9, 1955.
Excepting therefrom that portion of said old road adjoining the Swansonville
Garbage Dump in the wi of the swi in Sec. 5, T. 28 N., R. 1 E., W.N.
15. That portion of the old Port Ludlow-Shine Road in Lot 1, the SEi of
the NWi and Lot 2 of Sec. 17 ~ T. 28 N." R. 1 E., W.M." outside of the right
of ,-ray of the e:xisting road tCo. Rd. No.8) as relocated and replaced by
C.R.P. No. 119, approved April 5, 1954.
16. Those portions of the old Cape George-Beckett Point Road outside of
the right of way of the present existing road (Co. Rd. No. 40) as relocated
and replaced by C.R.P. No. 147, approved January 16, 1956, and C.R.P. No.
183, approved December 5, 1958j from the junction with the Arcadia Road (Co.
Rd. No. 98), in Lot 4, Sec. 7, T. 30 N., R. 1 W., W~1.; thence wester~ and
souther~ to the jjnction with the Beckett Point branch (Co. Rd. No. 40-2.73)
in the SEi of the ~ of Sec. 2l~, T. 30 N., R. 2 W., W.M.
17. All those portions of the old Center~himacum road outside of the right
of way of the present existing road (Co. Rd. No. 18) as relocated and re-
placed by C.R.P. No. 167, approved Febrll.ary 3, 1958, from the south line of
the NEi of Sec~ 3, T. 28 N., Ro 1 W., tv oM.; thence norther~ through the
NIDi of said Sec. 3, T. 28 N., R. 1 W., W.l'lf\ and through the Et of Sec. 34,
the NWi of Sec. 35, the W~. of Sec. 26, the w-i of Sec" 23, and the swi of

18. That portion of the old T o'Wl1send-Chimacum road replaced by the
construction of Permanent Highway No.7, dated February 1, 1925 (Co.
Rd. No. )8), ~ng south of the right of way of the e:xisting Count.y Road
No. 38 in the sv& of the SW~ and ,the Slvi of the SEi of the sWi of Sec.
34, T. 30 N., R. 1 W., W.M.
and in contemplation of the language of the statute, R. C. "lt1. 36.87.010, the same
are useless, now therefore,
BE rr RESOLVED, and this Board of County Connnissioners does now declare its intention
to vacate and abandon said roads, and be it
FURl'HER RESOLVED, and the County Road Engineer is hereby directed to examine said
roads and report his opinion as to whether these county roads should be vacated and
abandoned; whether arry is in use or has been in use) the conditions thereOf, and
whether it will be advise able to preserve said roads for the county road system in
the future; whether the public will be benefited by the proposea abandonment, and
all other facts, matters and things which will be of importance to the Board; and
that such report be filed as soon as practicable.
