Latest 9:00pm
Maximum Total Number Hours Worked
per Week: 17
Maximum Hours Worked per Day:
• Mon — Fri: 4 hours
• Sat — Sun: 8 hours
SUMMARY: Assists with program implementation for youth and adult activities at the Port
Townsend Community Center and other recreation venues under direction of a supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists in a variety of recreation programs at the request of Recreation Supervisors, Assistant
Recreation Manager or the Parks and Recreation Manager.
Assists with youth and adult activities at various recreation venues. Understands safety and
appropriate use of facilities.
Performs limited facilities maintenance.
Assists with registration for programs.
Communicates and works effectively with other staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each
essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: One to three months related experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and
maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and
correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of
organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure,
using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and
percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several
concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current First Aid and CPR Certification - may be obtained after employment
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Have interest in recreation and leisure services and enjoy working
with youth and general public in a recreation setting.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The
