RESOLUTION NO,. (S - 4-1.3
WHEREAS, for a considerable period of time last past
the State of Washington, acting through its Commissioner
of Public Lands, and Jefferson County, acting by and through
its Board of County Commissioners, have had under negotia-
tion the exchange of lands wherein and whereby the State of
Washington would acquire lands of Jefferson County and Jef-
ferson County would acquire state lands under the jurisdic-
tion of the Department of Natural Resources, such exchange
to be carried out and concluded under appropriate statutory
power and authority, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Natural Resources of the State
of Washington has found and determined that the acquisition
by the State of Washington of the following described lands
owned by Jefferson County, to-wit:
The Southeast Quarter of the Northwest
Quarter (SEtNw;) of Section 15, and the North-
east Quarter of the Northwest Quarter (NEiNW!)
of Section 26, all in Township 27 North, Range 1
West of the Willamette Meridian;
The Northeast Quarter of the Northeast
Quarter (NE;NEt) of Section 33, and the North-
west Quarter of the Northwest Quarter (NW!NW!)
of Section 34, all in Township 2$ North, Range 1
West of the Willamette Meridian;
The Southeast Quarter of the Northeast
Quarter (SE;NEt) and the Northeast Quarter of
the Southeast Quarter (NEiSEi) of Section 12,
Township 2$ North, Range 2 West of the Willa-
mette Meridian;
SUBJECT TO: Oil and gas lease on the
Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter
(NWtNW!) of Section 34, Township 2$ North,
Range 1 West W. M., and othw.r land, dated
August 5, 1960, by County of Jefferson, lessor,
to Bomar Drilling Corporation, lessee, for a
term of five years from date, and as long
thereaftter as oil or gas, or either of them,
is produced from said land by the lessee, re-
corded September 1, 1960, in Volume 9 of Leases,
pages 291 and 292, under Auditor's File No. 166137;

2 WHEREAS, this Board of County Commissioners does now
3 find and determine that the acquisition of the following
4 described state land, which is School Land as the same is

defined by RCW 79.01.004, by Jefferson County, to-wit:
The South Half of the South Half (Sis!)
of Section g and the North Half of the North-
west Quarter (N!NW~) of Section 17, all in
Township 30 North, Range 1 West of the Willa-
mette Meridian;
is in the public interest and in the interest of all the
people of Jefferson County, Washington, and
WHEREAS, it has been further found and determined by
the negotiating parties that the county lands and state lands
are equal in value and substantially equal in area, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED
(1) That the Prosecuting Attorney for Jefferson County,
be and he is hereby directed to prepare for execution and
delivery to the Attorney General of the State of Washington
a warranty deed to the county owned lands as hereinbefore
described;
(2) That the Puget Sound Title Insurance Company be and
it is hereby induced to issue its standard form of purchaser's
policy of title insurance insuring the title of the land
which the State is to acquire with liability fixed at the
sum of $ s;,,, D . 00 , and that the premium therefor be
chargeable to and paid for from the County Road Fund;
(3) That all details relative to the closing of the
land exchange transaction hereby authorized, including re-
ceipt and approval of the State's conveyance and the delivery
of County deed and policy of title insurance shall devolve
upon and become the duty of the Prosecuting Attorney for
Jefferson County.
