Lj- 0 I 2 A RESOLUTION establishing the hourly wages, the hours to be worked each day and each week and establishing minimum monthly salaries for certain specified employees of JEFFERSON COUNTY BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Jefferson County, as follows: Section 1. It shall be the policy of Jefferson County to pay employees occupying positions specified in this resolution* at not less than one dollar ($1.00) per hour, and that all such employees working in excess of forty hours in any week or eight hours in any day, one and one-half times the employees' hourly 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 rate. Section 2. It shall be the responsibility of the heads of offices and department heads to schedule the shifts and hours of work of employees or their respective offices. Section 5. Each department and office head shall maintain a daily time report for each employee under his jurisdiction. Such timecard shall show the date and the hours worked. Hours worked shall be kept and paid to the nearest one-half hour. If an employee works less than fifteen minutes in any hour, such time need not be recorded and no wage or salary payment shall be made for such work; if an employee works at least fifteen minutes but less than 45 minutes in anY,hour, such employee shall be paid for one-half hour of work; and if an employee works 45 or more minutes in an hour, he shall be paid for one hour of work. The exact form of such time report shall be prepared and prescribed by the county auditor. Such time reports shall be certified, by the employee and office head or supervisor, not less than once each month, as a correct record of the days and hours worked. Section 6. Employees occupying the positions set out in Section 2 above shall receive not less than the minimum monthly salary specified by this section. Such minimum monthly salary being the product of the position's hourly wage rate, as set out in Section 2 hereof, times the number hours included in the regular work week for such position, as provided by Section 3 hereof, with provision in such computation for one and one-half times the regular hourly rate for all hours in excess of forty hours in such regular work week. The purpose of such minimum salaries is to assure county employees an adequate standard of living and to assure to the county loyal and qualified employees to conduct its affairs. Section 7. All employees working hours in excess of their regular work week as specified by Section 3 hereof shall re- ceive pay in addition to their minimum monthly wage, based on .j If. ee .- 1 additional hours worked times one and one-half times their 2 regular hourly wage as specified by Section 2 hereof. 3 Section 8. The following officers and employees shall be 4 considered executive, administrative or professional employees 5 as hereinafter indicated, and shall receive monthly or annual 6 salaries as set forth by the county budget. No employee shall work hours in excess of his 18 regular work week, as specified by Section 3 hereof, without ,', W the prior approval of his office head; and any employee who ~ shall work without such prior approval Shall not be deemed to 21 be employed by Jefferson County, and such services shall be ~ deemed to be a mere gratuity. ~ Section 10. No office or department head shall authorize M any employee to work any hours in excess of his regularly ~ scheduled work week unless there is available to the head of ~ such office sufficient funds within his budget to pay the added 27 cost of such additional work, and nothing in this resolution ~ shall authorize any office or department to exceed any budget 29 item. 30 Section 11. This resolution shall become effective 2 3 immediately upon its passage and shall be deemed to supersede any prior resolution of Jefferson County found to be inconsis- 4 5 tent herewith. 6 7 ADOPTED this 9th day of June, 1959, at a special meeting concerning which all three of the following named have caused to be signed, executed and filed with the County Auditor a written consent thereto. 8 9 BOARD.
