WHEREAS, the Department of Highways or the State or Washington, acting as
Agent of and. ror the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the
United States of perica" is desirous of constructing a Federal Aid Project , No.

and
-WHEREAS, the Department. of. Highwqs of the state of Washington, acting as
Agent for the un\'ted St.ates Bureau of Public Roads, is desirous or receiving Fed'-
eral funds for the improvement of said road, and
WHEREAS, the said Bureau. of Public Reads of the Department of commerce of
the United Sta1;es of Amarica will not part.icipate in the construction of said road
until and unless the County of Jefferson will agree to refrain from permitting
encroachment upon the right of WIq of said above-mentioned rO$d, and until and unless
the County of Jefferson will agree to refrain from passing resolutions affecting t.he
free now of traffic en said above-mentioned road 0* that will give preference t.o
local rol1t.es which intersect with said road. other than by the erectic.m or install-
ation of .slow'" and/or ttcau.'tion" signs or signa:Ls, or that will unreas\?"nab~ hinder
or del8i,V" traffic on said above--mentioned road. and until and unless th6\ County of
Jefferson will agree, by suitable resolution, to adopt the grades o.r the
improvements as the grades of the county road that is involved, and agr6\e to protect
the State of Washington against &ny' and all claims for damages on accoun't of any
changes of grades and the constru.etion of this improvement and until andU. nles8
the County of Jefferson will agree to maintain said improvement within the limits
of the County of Jefferson after the improvement has been completed;
NOW, THEREFORE" BE rr RESOLVED by the Board of County' Commissioners of Jeffers"on
County that for and in consideration of the Department of Highways of the Stat~f
W~hington and the Bureau of Pu.blic Roads of the Department of Commerce of the
Unted states of America constructing said road and routing traffic on same over

Jefferson County hereby agrees with \he Department of Highways of the state of
Washington and the Bureau of Public R0ads of the Department of Commerce of the
United states of America that it will not, in the future, permit encroachments on
the right of wq of the said above-mentioned road, nor will it pass any resolutions
affecting the free flow of traffic on said above-mentioned road @r that will give
preference to locaJ. routes which intersect with said road, other than by the erec-
tion or instaJ.lation of "slow" and/or "oaution.' signs or signals. or that will slow
up, unreasonably hinder, or delq traffic on sud above-mentioned road, and that it
will, by suitable resolution, adopt the grades of the improvement as the grades of
the county road that is involved, and hereby agrees to pratect the state of Washington
against any and all c1a.:i.ms for damages on account of changes of grades and the con-
struction of this improvement. and hereby further agrees to maintain said improve'"
ment within the limits of the County of Jefferson atter this improvement has been
completed.
