RESOLUTION NO. C-376
WHEREAS, on July 2, .1956, there was filed with the Auditor of
Jefferson CountYt a petition for th,e purpose of forming a fire district
under the provislons of R. C. W. 52.0~.OlO et seq., and said Auditor
having found and determined tha.t said petition contains a sufficient
number of signatures of qualified persons, and having attached thereto
her certificate of sufficiency and on August ~, 1958 transmitted the
same to the Board of County Commissioners, and said Board having then and
-'. there, by resolution entered upon their min'tues, fixed Friday the 5th day
of September, 1958 at the hour of 11:00 o'clock A.M. of said day at the
Commissioners' Room in the Jefferson County Courthouse, Port Townsend,
Washington, as the time and place for the hearing of said petition, and
WHEREAS, at said time and place said petition came on for hearing,
proof having been made to the satisfaction of this Board that Notice
hereof has been given for the time and in the manner provided by law, and
,----' no objection having made or fiied, the Board proceeded to hear the petition
and upon conclusion, makes the following findings:
1. That the lands described in the petition will be conducive to public
safety, welfare, and convenience and should be granted.
2. The name and numbe r of the dis triet shall be JEFFERS) N COUNTY FIRE
PROTECTION DISTRICT No.2, and that the boundaries thereof shall be and
are determined as follows:
Begin: Section corner common to Secti ons 6 and 7, T. 28 N.,
R 1 V., and sections 1 and 12, T. 28 N., R 2 V., south
on section line for 5 sections, thence east on section
line for 3 sections thence south on section line
for approximately 21 sections to waters of Dabob Bay,
thence southwesterly by water boundary to Olympic
National Forest Boundary section line between sections
26 and 35, T. 26 N., R 2 w. thence west to section
corner common to sections 26, 271 3~, and 35, T. 26 N.,
R 2 W., t hence north on section ine for ~ sections,
thence west on section line for 1 section, thence north
on section line for 4. sections, thence east on section
line for 1 section, thence north on section line for 8
sections, thence east on section line for 2 sections
to point of beginning.
3. That an election be held on Tuesday the ltth day of November, 1958,
to determine whether the district shall be organized. The election
shall be, so far as possible, called, noticed, conducted and canvassed
in the same manner and by the same officials as is provided for a
special election in the county to authorize the issuance of bonds for
a county purpose, and all such offi cials shall have full authority
to do all things necessary for the purpose of the election. For the
purpose of the election, county voting precincts may be combined or
divided and redefined, and the territory in the distri ct shall be
included inane or more election preCincts as may he deemed convenient
and they shall be defined and a polling place for each designated. The
notice of the election shall state generally and briefly the purpose
thereof, give the boundaries of the proposed district, define the
ele ction precincts, designate the polling place for each, mention the
names of the candidates for the first commissionerw, and name the day of
the election and the hours during which the polls will be open.
