M~ ORDI~ANCE of Jefferson county creating and establishing
a plan or system with respect to vacations ana
sick leave of deputies and county employees
employed on both a monthly and/or per diem or
hourly basis.
WHEREAS, no plan or system has been heretofore devised
or established concerning vacations and sick leave of
regularly appointed depu~ies and county employees employed on
both monthly and/or per di_ or hourly ba..., and
wHEliEAS, the Board of ~ounty Com~issioners now desires
to resolve itself in writing in order to accomplish the
objectives, therefore,

does ordain as followa:

Section 1.
Retroactive, and effe~tiYe as January 1,
1958, and in each calenc1ar year thereafter, every r~gularly
appointed deputy and eacb coun~y .-ploy.. employed. on a monthly
basis, shall be entitled to a vacation, within the particular
year of ten working days, provided however, that effective
January 1, 1959, each regularly appoint e<1 depaty and county
employee employed on a monthly basis wbo haa held such position
or employman t with the county for a period of more than ten
years continuously, shall hereafter b. entitled to vacation of
fifteen working d.ays, it being the intent and purpose 01' this
ordinance to create an additional five-day vacation privilege
to a ten-year continuous employment period~
Section 2.
Retroactive, and effective as of January 1,
1958, every regularly appointed deputy and each ounty employee
employed on a monthly basis, shall be entitled to sick leave,
with pay, of one day per month, provided such leave shall be
entitled to accumulate, but such accumulation shall not exceed
a maximum of 120 days.

Secti on 3. E''lch county employee employed on an hourly
or per diem basis, who shall have worked fifteen hundred hours
or more in anyone year, prior to January 1, 1958, or thereafter,
shall be entitled to the same vacation and sick leave as herein
provided for deputies and county employees employed on a monthly
basi s.
