Dear ICG Members,
Our community is excited about this official ICG meeting devoted to affordable housing.
Local governments may not acknowledge responsibility for housing. However, officials and citizens alike see water and sanitation as your duty. Without safe provision of these services,
there's no safe housing.
The Housing Solutions Network recognizes this and has formed a Sanitation HAT (housing action team). Now HSN and PHLUSH, with funding from the Jefferson Community Foundation, are planning
a Fall 2022 learning series on sanitation issues related to housing affordability.
Through online sessions, events, and field visits we hope to explore wastewater treatment technologies and costs, codes and regs, and sanitation justice for economically vulnerable homeowners.
We call on elected officials and staff of local governments to help identify what the public needs to know and prioritize topics of interest. We urge each of you to take two minutes
to complete our survey, which is online: https://forms.gle/NDrPoKASNo3EfcL67 <https://forms.gle/NDrPoKASNo3EfcL67>
Thank you for bringing us together today. It's vital that we generate actionable pathways forward.
Sincerely,
Carol
