RESOLUTION NO.

~~S, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington, acting as
Agent of and for the &lreau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the
United States of America, is desirous of eonstructing a Federal Aid Project , No.
F ..A..B..--oh97('5) in Jefferson County, over and across -
the swf. Wi. the wi NWi~ the NEt Wi and the Wi NEt o~ section 16;
the swi SEi~ the SEt. Silt, the NWi: SEt: the NEt sEt and the BEt NEt
of section 9 J the sWf ~, the NWt ~ and the NEt Wi of section ,10 J
all in T. 28 N., R. 1 W., W.M. in Jefferson County, Washington
and
~~REAS, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington, acting as
Agent for the United States Bureau of Public Roads, is desirous of reeeiving Fed-
eral funds for the improvement of said road, and
WHZREAS, the said Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of
the United States of America will not participate in the construction of said road
until and unless the County of Jefferson will agree to refrain from permitting
encroachment upon the right of way of said above-mentioned road, and until and un-
less the County of Je~ferson will agree to refrain from passing resolutions
affecting the free flow'of traffic on said above-mentioned road or that will give
preference to local routes which interseet with said road, other than by the erec-
tion or installation of "slow" and/or "caution" signs or signals, or that will un-
reasonably hinder or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, and until and un-
less the County of Jefferson will agree, by suitable resolution, to adopt the
grades of the improvement as the grades of the county road that is involved, and
agree to protect the State of Washington against any and all claims for damages on
account of any changes of grades and the construction of this improvement, and un-
til and unless the County of Je~ferson will agree to maintain said improve-
ment within the limits of the County of Jefferson after the improvement has
been completed;
NO\>i, THEREFORE, BE IT R:t;SOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson
County that for and in consideration of the Department of Highways of
the State of Washington and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Com-
meree of the United States of America construeting said road and routing traffic on

Jefferson County hereby agrees with the Department of Highways of the State
of Washington and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the
United States of Ameriea that it will not, in the future, permit eneroachments on
the right of way of the said above-mentioned road, nor will it pass any resolutions
affecting the free flow of traffic on said above-mentioned road or that will give
preference to loeal routes which intersect with said road, other than by the erec-
tion or installation of "Slow" and/or "caution" signs or signals, or that will slow
up, unreasonably hinder, or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, and that it
will, by suitable resolution, adopt the grades of the improvement as the grades of
the county road that is involved, and hereby agrees to protect the State of Wash-
ington against any and all claims for damages on aecount of changes of grades and
the eonstruction of this improvement, and hereby further agrees to maintain said
improvement within the lilnits of the County of Jefferson after this improve-
ment has been completed.
