RESOLUTION NO. C - '-..7 ~

WHEREAS, the Washington Toll Bridge Authority has
3 scheduled a public hearing for Friday, the 27th day of
April, 1956, to be held in the office of the Governor of
4 the State of Washington, whereat the Authority may benefit
from the reaction of interested governmental agencies,
5 civic organizations and individuals with respect to the
construction of a proposed bridge spanning Hood Canal, and,
6
vJHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners for Jeffer-
7 son County is familiar with the provisions of Chapter 166
of the Laws of Washington, 1955, permitting secondary
8 financing in aid of this type of contruction, now therefore,
9 BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
lO for Jefferson County, and said Board of County Commissioners
11 does now find and determine tha~ the immediate construction
12 of a toll bridge crossing Hood Canal at or near the site of
13 the present State Ferry operation is in the genuine interest
14 of Jefferson County, and all of its residents, and
15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Board of County Com-
16 missioners does hereby pledge, if requested by the Washington
17 State Highway Commission or the Authority, to contribute.
18 money, bonds, rights of way, labor, materials and other
19 property for the expense of building such a bridge, and for
20 preliminary surveys and the preparation of plans and estimates
21 of costs therefor and other preliminary expenses, commensur-
22 ate with the financial ability of Jefferson County to so
23 contri bute.
