;liHER3AS, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington, acting as
Agent for the United States Bureau of Public Roads, is desirous of receiving Fed-
eral funds for the improvem~nt of said road, and
WHEREAS, the said Bureau of Public Hoads of the Department of Commerce of
the United States of America will not participate in the construction of said road
until and unless the County of Jefferson will agree to refrain from permitting
encroachment upon the ri3ht of way of said above-mentioned road, and until and un-
less the County of .JAft' T'RCll'l will agree to refrain from passing resolutions
affecting the free flow 01 traffic on said above-mentioned road or that will give
preference to local routes 1A~1ich intersect with said road, other than by the erec-
tion or install:ltion of "slov,'l nnd/or "caution" signs or signals, or that will un-
reasonably hinder or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, and until and un-
less the County of Jefferson will agree, by suitable resolution, to adopt the
grades of the improvement as the grades of the county road that is involved, and
agree to protect the State of 'Washington against any and all claims for damages on
account of any changes of grades and the construction of this improvement, and un-
til and unless the County of Jeffersen will agree to maintain said improvement
within the limits of the County of Jefferson after the improvement has been
completed; ,

Jefferson County that for and in consideration of the Department of Hignway~ of
the State of Washin~ton and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Com-
merce of the United States of America constructing said road and routing traffic on

Government Lets 1, 2, 3, and 4 of Section 7, Tewnship

Jefferson County hereby agrees with the Department of Highways of the State of
Vfashington and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of COlTL1'Jlerce of the
United States of America that it will not, in the future, permit encroachments on
the right of way of the said above-mentioned road, nor will it pass any resoluti0ns
affectine: the free flow of traffic on said above-mentioned road or that will give
preference to local routes which intersect with said road, other than by the erec-
tion or installation of "slow" and/or "caution" signs or signals, or that will slow
up, unreasonably hinder, or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, and that it
