1fiH'f.:REAS, the Department of High?!ays of the state of Washington, acting as
Agent for the United States Bureau of Public Roads, is desirous of receiving Fed-
eral funds for the improvement of said road, and
WHEREAS, the said Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of
the United States of America will not participate in the construction of said road
until and unless the County of .rw.lt'~'R~OJ . will agree to refrain from permitting
encroachment upon the right of way 0 and above-mentioned road, and until and un-
less the County of ~~FE~N will agree to refraintrom passing resolutions
affecting the free now 0 raffic on said above-mentioned road or that will give
preference to local routes which intersect ~th said road, other than by the erec-
tion or installation of "s10W" and/or "caution" signs or signals,. or that will un-
reasonably hinder or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, and until and un-
less the County of JEFFERSON will agree, by suitable resolution, to adopt the
grades of the improvement aathe grades of the county road that is involved, and
agree to protect the State of Washington against any and all claims for damages on
account of any changes of grades and the construction of this improvement, and un-
til and unless the County of JEFFERSON will agree to maintain said improvement
wi thin the limits of the County Of.~ .. . i~ after the improvement has been

NO'T'J, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of

JEFFERSON County hereby agrees with the Department of Highways of the State of
Washington'and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the
United States of America that it will not, in the futuret permit encroachments on
the right of way of the said above-mentioned rOad, nor l1ill it pass any resolutions
affecting the free flow of traffic on said above-mentioned road or that will .give
preference to local routes which intersect ~~th said road, other than bytheerec-
tion or installation of "slow" and/or Ilcaution" signs or signals, or that will slow
up, unreasonably hinder, or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, and that it
will, by suitable resolution, adopt the grades of the improvement as the grades of
the county road that is involved, and hereby agrees to protect ~he State of Wash-
irlgton against any and all claims for damages on account of changes of grades and
the construction of this unprovement, and hereby further agrees to maintain said
improvement within the l~mits of the County of JVFFJi$QN after this improve.;.
