ViHEREAS the Department of Highways of the State of 'Vashington, acting as
Agent of and' for the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the
United States of America, is desirous of constructing a Federal Aid Project__, No.

WHEREAS, the said Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Connnerce of
the United States of America will not participate in the construction of said road
until and unless the County of JAtf' r. will agree to refrain from permitting
, encroachment upon the right of way of s~ above-mentioned road, and until and un-
less the County of .r."'f!~AdT will agree to refrain from passing resolutions
affecting the free f'low 0 r ic on said above-mentioned road or that will give
preference to local routes which intersect with said road, other than by the erec-
tion or installation of "slow" and/or "cautionllsigns or signals, or that will un...
reasonably hinder or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, anduntU and un-
less the County of ~.f{."""" will agree, by suitable resolution, to adopt the
grades of the improverAen' as & grades of ' the county road that is involved, and
agree to protect the State of Washington against any and all claims for damages on
account of aQy changes of grades and the construction of this improvement, and un-
til and unless the County of J..",/......Aft will agree to maintain said improvement
within the limits of the County 0 J.f'f'......... after the improvement has been
completed;
NOVT, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Cormn1ssioners of
Jefferson County that for- and in consideration of the Department of High-
ways of the State of Washington and the Bureau of Public Roads ot the Department
of Conunerce of the United States of America constructing said road and routing
traffic on same over and across

tefrer~on County hereby agrees with the Department of Highways of the State of
~ashing on and the BUreau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the
United States of America that it will not, in the future, permit encroachments on
the right of way of the said above-mentioned road, nor will it pass any resolutions
affecting the free flow of traffic on said above-mentioned road or that will give
preference to local routes which intersect with said road, other than by the erec-
tion or installation of I/slow" and/or "caution" signs or signals, or that will slow
up, unreasonably hinder, or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, and that it
will, by suitable resolution, adopt the grades of the improvement as the grades of
the county road that is involved, and hereby agrees to protect the State of Wash-
ington against any and all claims for damages on account of changes of grades and
the construction of this improvement, and hereby further agrees to maintain said
improvement within the limits of the County of Jeffereon after this improve-
ment has been completed.
