RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington,
acting as Agent of and for the Public Roads Administration of the Federal
Works Agenoy of the United States ot America, is desirous of oonstructing
A Federal Aid Project .. No. 5"0974(1) in Jefferson County, over and
across Government Lot~and Government Lot 11 of Section 6, Township 29
North, Range 1 East, W.M.; and Government Lot 12 of Sectiqn 1, Township 29
North# Range 1 West, W.M.
and
WHEREAS # the Department of Highways of the State of Washington,
acting-as Agent for the United States Public Roads Administration, is
desirous of receiving Federal ~~nds for the improvement of said road, and
WHEREAS, the said Public Roads Administration of the Federal Works
Agency of the United States of America will not participate in the con-
struction of said road until and unless the County of Jefferson will
agree to refrain from permitting encroachments upon the right of way of
said above-mentioned road, and until and unless the County of Jefferson
will agree to refrain from passing resolutions affecting tne free flow of
traffic on said above-mentioned road'or that will give preference to local
routes which intersect with said road# other than by the erection or instal.'
lation of "Slow" and/or "Caut'ion" signs or signals# .or that will unreason'"
ably hinder or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road# and until and
unless the County of Jefferson will agree, by suitable resolution# to adopt
the grades Qf.'the improvement as, the grades of the county road that is
involved, and agree to protect the State of Washington against any and
all claims for damages on acc.ount of any changes of grades and the con-
struction of this improvement, and until and unless the County of Jefferson
will agree to maintain said improvement within the limits of the County
of Jefferson after the improvement has been completed}
NOW# THEREFORE# BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners-
of the County of Jefferson that for and in consideration of the Department
of Highways of the State of Washington and the Public Roads Administration
of the F1ederal Works Sgency of the United States of America constructing
said road and routing traffic on same over and across Government LOt 13
and Government Lot 11 of Section 6# Township 29 North, Range 1 Eaat,W.M.;
and Government Lot 12 of Section 1, Township 29 North, Range 1 West,W.M.

and
Jefferson County hereby agrees with the Department of Highways of the
State of Washington and the Public Roads Administration of the Federal
Works Agency of the United States of America# that it will not# in the
tuture# permit encroachments on the right of way of the said above-men-
tioned road or that will give preference to local routes which intersect
with said road, other than by the erection or installation of "Slow"
and/or "Caution" signs or signall, or that will slow up, unreasonably hinder,
or delay traffio on said above-mentioned r~ad# and that it will# by suitM
. able resolution, adopt the grades of the improvement 8S the grades of the
county road that is involved# and hereby agrees to protect the State of
Washington against any and 811 claims for damages on account of changes of
grades and the construction of this improvement# and hereby further agrees
to maintain said improvement within the limits of t he County of Jefferson
after this improvement has been completed.
