VlHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington, acting as
Agent for the United States Bureau of Public Roads, is desirous of receiving Fed-
eral funds for the improvement of said road, and
V~REAS, the said Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of
the United States of America will not participate in the construction of said road
until and unless the County of J.:tt~,__ will agree to refrain from permitting
encroachment upon the right of way 0 said-above-mentioned road, and until and un-
less the County of ~, will agree to refrain from passing resolutions
affecting the free ~ic on said above-mentioned road or that will give
preference to local routes which intersect with said road, other than by the erec-
tion or insta]J.ation of "slow" and/or "caution" signs or signals, or that will un-
reasonably hinder or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, and until and un-
less the County of ~ "d.ll agree, by suitable resolution, to adopt the

agree to protect the State of Washington against any and all claims for damages on

~~county hereby agrees with the Department of Highways of the State of
[as ngton and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the
United States of America that it will not, in the future, permit encroachments on
the right of way of the said above-mentioned road, nor will it pass any resolutions
affecting the free flow of traffic on said above-mentioned road' or that will give
preference to local routes which intersect with said road, other than by the erec-
tion or installation of IIs10wll and/or "cautionll signs or signals, or that will slow
up, unreasonably hinder, or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, and that it
will, by suitable resolution, adopt the grades of the improvement as the grades of
the county road that is involved, and hereby agrees to protect the State of Wash-
ington against any and all claims for damages on account of changes of grades and
the construction of this improvement, and hereby further agrees to maintain said
improvement within the limits of the County of ,...,.. after this improve-
ment has been completed.
