WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of th~ State of Washington,
acting as Agent of and for the Public hoads Administration of the B'ederal
Works Agency of the United States of America, is desirous of constructing
a Federal Aid Project& , No. S-0497-(1{ in Jeff~rson Count~, over and.
across the NW; of NE-i~e SW~~ ofl the NE"4, the NWt of the SE4", the swi-
of the SEt, cd the SEt of the _, SW"4 of Section 20, Township 28 North, Range
One (1) West~ W.M.; and the NEt of the NWt of Section 29, Township 28 North,
Range One (1) West, W.M.
and
WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington,
acting as Agent for the United States Public Roads Administration, is
desirous of receiving Federal Funds for the improvement of said road, and
WHEREAS, the said Public Roads Administration of the Federal Works
Agency of the 'United States of America ~ill not participate in the construc-
tion ot said road until and unless the County of Jefferson will agree to re-
frain from permitting encroachments upon the right of way of said above-
mentioned Boad, and until and unless the County of Jefferson will agree,
to refrain from passing resolutions affecting the free flow of traffic
on said above-mentioned r ad or that will give preference to local routes iT
which intersect with said road, other than by the erection or installation
of "Slow"; and/Or "caution" signs or signals, or that will unreasonably
hinder or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, and until and unless
the County of Jefferson will agree, by suitable resolution, to adopt the
grades: of the improvement as the grades, of the county road that is involvedJ,!,
and agree to protect the State of Washington against any and all ~aims for
damages on account of any changes of grades and the construction of this
improvement, and until and unless the County of Jefferson wil~ agree to
maintain said improvement within the limits of the County of Jefferson
after the improvement has been completed~
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the board of County Commissioners
of the County of Jefferson that for and in considerati~n of the Department
of Highways of the State of Washington and the Public RoadsAdministration
of the Federal Works Agency of the ~nited States of America constructing
said road and routing traffic on same over and across

the NVit of the NEt, the swi of the NEt, the NWt of the SE~, theSWi of the
SE~, and the SEt of th~ SW4 ot Section 20, ~ownship 28 North, Range One (1)
West, W .M. j and the NEt of tLe NVI-,f of Section 29, Township 28 North, Range
One (1) West, W.M.
and
Jefferson County hereby agrees with the Department of Highways of the
State of Washington and the Public Roads.4lldministration of the l"edera1 Works
Agency of the United States of America" tUat it will not, in the future,
permit encroachments on the right of way of the said above mentioned road
or that will give preference to local routea which intersect with said road,
ot er than by the er~ctlon or installation of "slow" and/or "Cautiontf signs
or signals, or that wtll slow up, unreasonably hinder, or delay traffic

for damages on account of changes of grades and the construction of this
improvement, and hereby further agrees to maintain siad improvement within
the limits of the County of Jefferson after this improvement has been complete<
