Mr. Arthur C.iorsn, <hairman,
Mr. Bertil Kruse, Commissioner
Gentlemens
I wish to call your attention to the Jef'f'erson County Land Clearing Operations. First, as
my duty to Jefferson County, and second, to safeguard myselt, I 8Il fil'llll7 convinced that the Iulldozer
tor the past two years haS been opergtiig illegally and at a loss and ill an injustice to the taxpayers.
Sane time ago we were advised that it was illegal to operate on the county plan. ACCOrdingly, I
voted to discontinue the saJlle.
The Board of Camnissioners found it necessary to pass an lWergenoy to carry on the land clearing
program, as the operating costs have exceeded the receipts as well as the amount budgeted for that
purpose .
I have tound out that a second bulldozer has been put to work for this same purpose without my
knawledge. As any taxpayer can bring suit against our Board for this conduct, I wish to state that I am
strictly opposed to this plan and desire the Clerk ot the Board to make this letter a matter of record.
In the future I wish to be con8Ulted on any work or plan for which I II1Ibt be held responsible.
Yours very ~, _
Hugh Nisbet, CaIIn1ssioner 2nd Dis't.
