RESOLUTION NO. 12-05
WHEREAS, the Dosewallips River Floodplain Acquisition Project agreement
No. 04-1639A approved by the Board of County Commissioners on January 24,2005
established receipt of $246,600 from the Interagency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation/Salmon Recovery Funding Board (or "IAC/SRFB") for land or easement
acquisitions and associated costs; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, by signing the agreement,
allocated $50,000 in matching Secure Rural Schools Title III funds to support project
acquisitions and associated costs; and,
WHEREAS, while it is the Board of County Commissioners that have the
authority to bind the County in any contract or purchase where County funds will be
exchanged for items of value such as real or personal property, they are also empowered
to grant to their employees, agents or representatives authority to execute (sign) closing
documents that might be required by third-parties (such as title companies) in order to
implement and complete such contracts or purchases.
NOW; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners
of Jefferson County that they hereby grant Deputy Prosecuting Attorney David Alvarez
and/or County employee Tami Pokorny the authority to execute all closing documents
that might be required by third parties in order to undertake and complete the project
identified above as approved for Secure Rural Schools Title III and IAC/SRFB funding
for the duration of the grant agreement.
