Our 2022 Fall First Friday Speaker Series kicks off next month and series passes are available through Friday, August 26! This four-part series coincides with East Jefferson Fire Rescue's 150th anniversary celebration in October. So, for every first Friday between September and December, we'll be highlighting speakers with remarkable regional experience and knowledge around fire—from safety and practices to firefighting and fire ecology. First up in the series will be Ted Krysinski discussing the history of Port Townsend's landmark fire bell tower and other fire alarm systems used through the years. This exhibition features just a few of the 1,500+ photos Welch took of the Olympic Mountains between 1903 and 1925. What you'll see is the result of Ann Welch's efforts to restore her grandfather's century-old negatives and print them through a process refined in the 1850s using a palladium solution.
