From the station’s inception, KPTZ has agreed to serve as the primary information source in a community-wide disaster. That takes facilities and equipment. Please contribute to this important service! On Saturday, August 20 from 11am-4pm at H. J. Carroll Park’s Rotary Pavilion, you will have the chance to connect with leaders from city and county agencies, and personnel from Jefferson County’s network of public health and safety professionals, including KPTZ! Plus, there will be preparedness presentations, information booths and Free “Go Bags”! At 3pm, in the park pavilion, Nora Petrich, Rita Kepner and Tim Quackenbush will join other County emergency situation leaders for a presentation on expected plans for communications during an actual disaster. KPTZ, in partnership with the JeffCo Emergency Operations Center, ensures that vital information reaches the public, in case traditional forms of communication fail in any emergency. KPTZ Emergency Response Team members can fill you in on station info and activities, at KPTZ’s All County Picnic booth. Enter the free raffle there, to win a pair of passes to THING Festival <https://kptz.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=6df05bfd2eaa0ab6bf92aa5cf&id=1410f1c495&e=eba4e3a8b6> . Stop by, and feel free to bring any questions! The All County Picnic welcomes East Jefferson County to a community-wide celebration of resiliency and emergency preparedness. As a rural community, our ability to respond to emergencies and recover from disaster is dependent on the networks and relationships we build in advance. Knowing where and how to connect to information and resources, before a crisis, is key. <https://kptz.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=6df05bfd2eaa0ab6bf92aa5cf&id=9eed87fe71&e=eba4e3a8b6> In this week's broadcast, KPTZ takes you to the All-County Picnic in the company of County Commissioner Heidi Eisenhour, Director of Emergency Management Willie Bence, Deborah Stinson of NPREP, Megan Claflin of The Production Alliance, Nora Petrich of KPTZ’s E-Team and host Phil Andrus.
