Naming a Private Road X
Dosey Lane, Mossy Lane
or Elk Run Lane X
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has received a petition (Exhibit "A") to name
a private road, as shown on the attached map (Exhibit "B"), either Dosey Lane or Mossy Lane or
Elk Run Lane; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner is a property owner on this road; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to establish this road name, pursuant to the Jefferson
County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance Number 2-0401-91, to allow for addressing
along the road and eliminate confusion due to similar road names; and
WHEREAS, research has shown that there are currently five (5) addresses assigned at
this mile post number that will be affected by establishing the road name; and
WHEREAS, notification was sent to interested parties; and
WHEREAS, a response was received from JEFFCOM supporting the name Mossy Lane
(Exhibit "C"); and
WHEREAS, no negative responses were received for the choice of Mossy Lane; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the road be named Mossy Lane.

RE: Brinnon Road name request
The three choices of road names givento the MSAG Coordinator were Dosey Ln, Mossy
Ln and Elk Run Ln.
In accordance with the proposed addressing ordinance, Elk Run Ln does not fit the
criteri,a because it 'has two names and then the street type identifier.
Dosey Ln fit13 the criteria, but as a 911 dispatcher having taken many calls on
Dosewallips road, many locals refer to that road as "Dosey". I think that it could cause
some familiarity problems.
Mossy Ln is acceptable and fits the proposed address ordinance, and therefore it is the
MSAG Coordinators recommendation that Mossy Ln be chosen as the new road name.
