In the Matter of Requesting a Delay in the Vote on }
a City of Port Townsend Ordinance Regarding }
"Formula Stores" }
RESOLUTION NO. :in_OS
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend has recently developed a "formula store"
ordinance which will affect the uses or potential uses of existing buildings within the City;
and
WHEREAS, Jefferson County was recently notified that the Port Townsend City
Council plans to vote on said "formula store" ordinance at a special business meeting
scheduled for Monday, June 13th, at 8:00 pm to be held at the Blue Heron School; and
WHEREAS, Jefferson County has buildings within the City that will be affected by
the adoption of said "formula store" ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County are
specifically concerned that adoption of said "formula store" ordinance may affect the future
value and/or marketability of its buildings within the City;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOL VED, that the Board of Commissioners hereby requests
that the City Council of Port Townsend delay their vote on the proposed "formula store"
ordinance until the County has had time to review said ordinance and been given the
opportunity to make comment on said ordinance.
