In the Matter of Establishing a }
REET Technology Fund for the }
Treasurer's Office }
RESOLUTION NO. 67-05
WHEREAS, the State of Washington revised RCW 82.45.180 (2)(c) to require that the
Treasurer deposit certain Real Estate Transfer fees into a County "real estate tax electronic
technology fund" for the purpose of accumulating monies to be spent to develop automated
county REET affidavit systems that will support REET automation within the Treasurer's,
Assessor's, and Auditor's functions and will be compatible with the State's systems; and
WHEREAS, the County Treasurer has already created a "REET Technology Fund";
and,
WHEREAS, the Commissioners want to recognize this fund for accounting and
budgeting purposes;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOL VED, that the Board of Commissioners hereby directs the
County Auditor incorporate this new fund into the County's accounting system and to disclose
such Fund in the County's Annual Financial Statements; the Fund shall be known as the
REET Technology Fund, number 151-000-010.
BE IT FURTHER RESOL VED, that the Treasurer continue the REET Technology Fund
as established in July of this year.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners further directs that
interest earning for this Fund shall be deposited into this Fund.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the REET Technology Fund will have an initial
working capital reserve requirement of $0.00.
