While local jurisdictions can and do receive funds directly, the Department of Commerce is the State Administering Agency for Washington’s annual allocation of the funds. The Advisory Committee is made up of members who represent a broad range of expertise in the criminal justice, social services and public health systems. Bringing their professional expertise to bear, committee members help us set current and future priorities for the program. As part of the legislation, a certification board is being established in the Washington State 911 Coordination Office to oversee the program. This board will have representation from key stakeholders and will play a pivotal role in the development of this new program.
