Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. ________________________________ We had such a great turnout for the first Community Build we are planning another for the remaining playground equipment. <https://mcusercontent.com/026fe9cf2f2bf19fe17821626/images/7900f1e9-0e40-080d-ae90-19a2127b0f2a.png> A BIG belated THANKS to all of those who came out to help with the Community Build on 8/12/22. We had a great turnout for the Community Build supervised by CME, Inc. As those who participated know, we got about half of the playground built. We are still waiting to take delivery of the Net Climber and once that arrives, we will be sponsoring another Community Build either the last week of August or early September. We will need a crew of 15 people for each shift: the morning shift 8:00 - Noon and the afternoon shift Noon - 4:00 pm. Lunch is Noon - 12:30 and will be provided along with beverages. Please let us know if you are interested in participating and shift preference by emailing us at jumpplayground@gmail.com. Refreshments and food provided. In the Meantime: The general contractor, ICI, is taking a work hold until September 12th when all of the equipment should be in place or arriving shortly thereafter. Meanwhile, Chris Axling of Magical Playhouses <https://jumpplayground.us18.list-manage.com/track/click?u=026fe9cf2f2bf19fe17821626&id=4232a14842&e=86e960d295> is donating his skills and time to create a cool, accessible play structure for the playground. Artist Rebecca Welti <https://jumpplayground.us18.list-manage.com/track/click?u=026fe9cf2f2bf19fe17821626&id=674b04746a&e=86e 960d295> is starting to install the tiles of plankton and sea creatures made by area school children and developmentally disabled adults. Gunter Reimnitz <https://jumpplayground.us18.list-manage.com /track/click?u=026fe9cf2f2bf19fe17821626&id=e40f1dd722&e=86e960d295> , Rebecca Welti and Todd Hulbert <https://jumpplayground.us18.list-manage.com/track/click?u=026fe9cf2f2bf19fe17821626&id=17c5cb2d4 2&e=86e960d295> are creating an art gate entry embracing our Salish Sea surroundings. (Scroll to the very bottom for photos of these designs). Once all the play structures are installed and the footings secure in cured concrete, the accessible surfacing goes in. We are using a combination of playground grass and recycled rubber tiles, so there will be smooth surfacing for walkers, runners and those needing wheels to assist them in moving around. Then the perimeter fencing goes in, landscaping is completed and we have the Grand Opening! We are hoping for the end of September or early October for the Grand Opening. It is dependent on all the items arriving as scheduled! And we all know how that has been in our post-Covid world.
