Proposed legislation in New York State would require that landlords in Albany looking to evict a tenant submit their rental occupancy permit as part of the eviction filing. One would think that this legislation would not be necessary. Fulfilling the landlord's request, in this case an eviction, should be contingent on compliance with appropriate local regulations. With the ongoing difficulty in defining and thereby accurately identifying vacant and abandoned properties, even when resources are allocated, the provided data may be lacking. In one of the studies, researchers discuss evolving AI technology that can provide better results at less of a cost.
