Transitioning back into civilian life can be difficult for veterans returning from active duty; sometimes, after putting their lives on the line to protect our rights and freedoms and
experiencing things the general population couldn’t begin to imagine, veterans could use some extra support. Unfortunately, some will turn to drugs or alcohol to help them cope and
ease their emotional pain during this time. The risk of addiction is high when drugs or alcohol are used as a coping mechanism.
