Roger Millar, the former Director of Complete Streets for Smart Growth America, now the Director of the Washington Department of Transportation, was in town and we had dinner and a
great conversation, along with his wife Candi, last night. Roger is making a swing through all of the ferry operations in the state this week. Through Roger's work in WashDOT, he is
filling his agency staff with the best, most motivated multimodal and equity experts in the nation, and getting key legislation passed to fund much-needed programs. On top of this,
I learned that Roger is the incoming president of the national AASHTO, which is great news for active transportation. Yea!!!
