Thank you. For my family, knowing our food is locally grown matters. Like many of you, we prioritize eating local food because it supports our farmers while being climate conscious. With Clallam County farmland being converted to other uses, the time is now to protect farmlands that enable all of us to eat locally grown food. Right now, our community stands to conserve two important farms in Dungeness: Mid Valley Farm and Dungeness Hub. A primary reason I am so proud to work at North Olympic Land Trust is that over the past two decades, we have permanently conserved 22 Clallam County farms. I'm even more excited that thanks to new funding opportunities and the Land Trust's brand new Strategic Plan, we are now ready to move from conserving about one farm per year to averaging two farms per year! This doubled pace is only possible thanks to the deep commitment of this community to our farmlands and farmers! We're kicking off this increased pace with Mid Valley Farm and Dungeness Hub. Both have been farmed for decades, and their locations and unique facilities mean they get used by surrounding farmers, supporting a broader farming industry.
