MINUTES
Special Meeting — August 26, 2022, 9:00 a.m.
Jefferson County Courthouse — Commissioners' Chambers

Kate Dean, District 1 I Heidi Eisenhour, District 2 —Chair I Greg Brotherton, District 3
CALL TO ORDER: Chair Heidi Eisenhour, Commissioner Kate Dean and
Commissioner Greg Brotherton participated in the meeting remotely. Chair Eisenhour called the
meeting to order at the appointed time.
CONTINUED DISCUSSION re: Enter into Lease between Jefferson County and
Olympic Community Action Programs (OlyCAP) for the Caswell-Brown Village Site: Chief Civil
Deputy Attorney (DPA) Philip Hunsucker provided a brief overview from the August 24, 2022 meeting.
He stated that OlyCAP and Public Works collaborated on incorporating changes to the lease that
included updated property lines and parking along the Larry Scott trail.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Chair Eisenhour called for public comments. One was comment
received and the Commissioners addressed the comment.
CONTINUED DISCUSSION re: Enter into Lease between Jefferson County and
Olympic Community Action Programs (OlyCAP) for the Caswell-Brown Village Site:
Commissioner Dean stated she appreciates the effort of all those working on the lease, but is worried
about removing the sharp curves that allow traffic to slow down before the intersection, and the
proposed route and this may inhibit that.
After further discussion, Commissioner Brotherton moved to approve the lease with OlyCAP as
presented with the amendments that were incorporated since the last meeting].
Commission Dean seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
CLOSING REMARKS: The Board thanked Public Works Engineer, John Fleming for
working quickly to get new maps for the special meeting.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT: Chair Eisenhour adjourned the meeting at 9:20 a.m.
until the next regular meeting or special meeting as properly noticed.
