Dear Jefferson County Commissioners,
I am writing to thank you for your support in protecting our forests
to maintain healthy ecosystems and to sequester carbon. Please
continue to do so!
I am concerned that Healthy Forests, Healthy Communities has now
mailed residents a glossy postcard and a flyer, asking us to oppose
your valued efforts. As a member of the Sierra Club, I've learned
that the mailing came from a well-funded lobbying organization called
Healthy Forests, Healthy Communities which is actually the forest
products industry. It's disturbing that people will read these
mailings and be misinformed about what you and others are doing, why
you are working to protect our forests, and how schools and other
services are actually funded.
