While local jurisdictions can and do receive funds directly, the Department of Commerce is the State Administering Agency for Washington’s annual allocation of the funds. The Advisory Committee is made up of members who represent a broad range of expertise in the criminal justice, social services and public health systems. The Committee reviews state and federal legislation and proposed changes from the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). The Committee also advises the State Auditor’s Office on issues relating to the prescription of a uniform financial reporting system for cities and counties. Requirements: Local Government Employee Meeting Schedule: Typically twice per year (May or June and December). Upcoming meetings October 5 and December 7, 9am-12pm. Meetings are currently held virtually. The Commission consists of 20 voting members and four non-voting members.
