Tami Pokorny,Natural Resources Program Coordinator
DATE: September 26,2022
SUBJECT: Request to reappoint Craig Schrader to serve a third 4-year term on the
Conservation Futures Citizen Oversight Committee representing the
Open Interest"Climate Change",through August 5th,2026.
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Public Health requests that the County Commissioners reappoint Craig Schrader to serve a third 4-year
term on the Conservation Futures Citizen Oversight Committee representing the Open Interest"Climate
Change",through August 5th, 2026.
ANALYSIS/STRATEGIC GOALS/PRO'S and CON'S:
An Open Interest vacancy on the CF Committee, in addition to the seats formerly occupied by JD Gallant,
Lorna Smith and Scott Brinton, was advertised in The Leader on July 20th and July 27th, 2022. Mr.
Schrader responded to the ad prior to the September 2,2022 deadline. Mr. Schrader has served
consistently and admirably on the committee since August of 2013, and his reappointment would help
maintain continuity and a high level of relevant expertise within the program. Mr. Schrader's background
is in soil science and he was previously employed by the Jefferson County Conservation District.
FISCAL IMPACT/COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
There is no fiscal impact to the county's General Fund for reappointing Mr. Schrader to a third 4-year
term on the CF Committee.
RECOMMENDATION:
Public Health requests that the County Commissioners reappoint Craig Schrader to the Conservation
Futures Citizen Oversight Committee to serve a third 4-year term to represent the Open Interest"Climate
Change",through August 5`h,2026.
