HomeMy WebLinkAbout092822 New zoning ordinance for pre 1971 plats________________________________ ALERT: BE CAUTIOUS This email originated outside the organization. I purchased this property in 2009 so I would have an affordable place to live and retire on. If I am not allowed to live here I don't know what I will do. I cannot afford to live anywhere else in the county or this state really. Will I end up homeless? I was told at the time of purchase by the department of health that as long as I had an acre or more I could have a well and septic on this land and that would allow me to build on it. How does this ordinance change that? Will I be allowed to live on my property? If you don't know how these new rules will effect people like me before you pass them wouldn't it be prudent to figure that out prior to passing this? I understand wanting to slow McMansion type development in rural areas and agree with that. Subdividing current lots further should be avoided. But current properties that were bought with the intent of having one home on them should not have that option revoked. And if it is, how will the county compensate the property owner for the loss in value? I invested much of my small nest egg in this property. If that disappears .... I'm up a creek without a paddle and without a home to return to. Please take this into consideration. Lee Feetham 360-643-1953
