Dear Olympic Peninsula Colleagues,
In follow up to our letter last month to WSDOT concerning the planned Hood Canal Bridge closures in summer, 2023, we received the following and attached response from Steve Roark at
WSDOT:
We pulled together information related to the upcoming work on the Hood Canal Bridge (HCB) and other work in the local area. The weekend closures at the HCB are not pinned down as yet,
but we’re committed to keeping the community informed as we know more. Please let me know if you have any questions.
We certainly appreciated Mr. Roark's detailed response (attached), and have invited him to join us for our upcoming Olympic Peninsula Tourism Commission (OPTC) meeting on Thursday, October
6. He will be joining us (virtually) for the meeting at 12:30p for 30 minutes. I'm sure this won't be our only meeting with WSDOT, but it's a good start to the dialogue.
If you are interested in learning more about the work OPTC does, or simply interested in sitting in on Mr. Roark's segment, you are welcome to join us. It will be a hybrid meeting,
based at 7 Cedars, with a Zoom option. The full meeting runs from 11:30a - 1:30p (lunch is available to purchase). Here are the details of how you can join ... we do request advance
