Discovery Bay Maintenance Facility

Dear Mr. Mercer:
The State is presently preparing plans for the subject project which we anticipate
advertising in mid November.
This project consists of the construction of a Department of Transportation
maintenance facility at our existing site at approximately MP 281,08 on SR 101.
The construction would include fencing of a portion of the site and a road approach
to gain access.
As indicated on the attached plan, the security type fencing would encroach on
Commercial Ave. and the road approach would involve construction on Ninth Avenue
of the plat of Junction City as recorded in Volume 2 Plats , Records of Jefferson
County. The definite location of these items are dictated by the existing terrain.
Jefferson County has recently indicated reluctance to vacate the streets involved
due to the possibility of future development in the area. The State is, therefore,
requesting this letter to represent authority from Jefferson County for the State
and its Contractor to enter upon those areas under jurisdiction of Jefferson
County to construct, maintain and use these facilities, and to remove and relocate
them at such time as the future streets are constructed by the County.
The County, by countersigning in the space provided below, acknowledges and grants
permission to construct, use and maintain the improvements as requested by the
State.
