We thank you for sharing this land with us. We are writing to you to invite you as honored participants to Chautauqua Week,an event that strives to create understanding, connection,respect and healing. The Chautauqua Week is being hosted by our community partners, The Production Alliance and The New Old Time Chautauqua during the Rhododendron Festival May 20-22,2022;we welcome you in planning and participating in all of the events: • Friday Evening-Opening Ceremony • Saturday- Rhododendron Festival Grand Parade; Invitation to march with Native Veteran Color Guard,Tribal Royalty, and any other ambassadors you may like to represent the tribe in the Parade • Saturday Evening-The Big Show at Fort Worden State Park-Complimentary tickets and reserved seating for all tribal members • Sunday- Workshops-Community oriented education and entertainment will be given by the New Old Time Chautauqua. We invite tribal members to host cultural,historical, and educational workshops if interested • Sunday Evening- Chautauqua Community Congress- Opportunity for local leaders to share issues and opportunities facing their communities. We welcome the Makah Tribe to participate in the Chautauqua Community Congress so that tribal perspectives and stories are appropriately, accurately and authentically presented to the people of Jefferson County. We are excited about the potential of working with you, Tribal elders, council and staff, and interested members of the Makah community.
