Last year, our juvenile court, probation and detention cost Chelan county almost $3.5 million. Whether you are operating your own facility or contracting with another county, I am sure you are experiencing the same inflation costs. I don’t know if you have ever had the chance to visit our juvenile detention facility, but we would like to show you exactly what we have to offer. Just last week, our Juvenile Administrator, Corey Stephens, presented to a neighboring county commission and we would love the opportunity to present to your board as well. Please let me know if you have some time during session to see what we are able to offer. Looking forward to hearing from you to schedule a date. Please let me know if you have any questions. Chelan County Juvenile Detention offers the following services: * Crisis mental health response through Catholic Charities. * Jail Services Program (addresses non-emergent mental health) through Catholic Charities. * In-house and virtual mental health-related and substance use disorder assessments. * In-person visitation. * Institutional Education program. * WorkSource employment skills training. * Narcotics Anonymous panel support group. * EDGE (life skills group). * Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups. * Celebrate Recovery 12-step self-help recovery group. * Chaplaincy Program. * In-house Food service program. * Contracted non-emergency medical care. * Yoga. * North Central Regional Library partnership. * Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) facility certification since 2019.
