What our doctors and scientists want more than anything is to make the next lifesaving breakthrough. Critical research is underway right now. For example: • Our patients deserve a strong start. Drs. Hannah Linden and Jennifer Specht at Fred Hutch and UW Medicine are using cutting-edge imaging technologies in innovative ways to better identify which patients are likely to respond to certain treatments. This is a very big deal. We can now cure many cancers if we catch them early enough. This is also just the beginning. • In a recent preclinical study, Dr. Cyrus Ghajar and his colleagues identified a critical component that keeps dormant tumor cells from reawakening. Our scientists hope to harness this discovery to keep those cells asleep — permanently. These are just a few examples of our recent progress.
