Dear Kate,
Join the Housing Alliance for our Fall Lunch & Learn Series on Equity, Racial Justice, and Culture! We will hold monthly meetings on the third Thursday of each month from 12 noon - 1
pm.

OCTOBER: This month we will continue our determination to hold an “Action-shop” where we invite members and advocates into discussion and action around racial disparities and practical
solutions in housing and homelessness.
There are direct connections from the start of colonization 530 years ago, to the Atlantic slave trade arriving here 203 years ago, to the Tulsa Massacre 101 years ago, to countless
policies enacted within the last few decades. There is also no doubt that injustices to racialized communities are embedded in cultural norms and practices that have been systematically
implemented by people in power since 1492. In this Actionshop we will make these connections together with the purpose of arriving at the conclusion that housing justice is fundamentally
racial justice.
* October 20: Housing Justice is Racial Justice 101: How our nation's history of structural racism continues to affect the state of housing and homelessness for racialized peoples
* November 17: Implicit Bias
* December 15: Why Tenants’ Rights are critical for Racial Justice and Ending Homelessness
