Port Townsend Golf Course and Mountain View Commons Concept Planning Effort
PORT TOWNSEND, Washington – The City of Port Townsend will host a meet and greet for the community to initiate the Port Townsend Golf Course and Mountain View Commons Concept Planning
Effort on Tuesday, October 25th from 2:00-4:00 P.M. City staff and the design team will have information booths set up at both sites to meet the community and answer questions about
the upcoming planning effort. We will also have comment cards and listen to ideas. Everyone is welcome to come and meet the team and participate in the launch of the envisioning process.
This planning effort began in early 2020 following the development of the PROS (Parks, Recreation, and Open Space) Plan which showed the community’s desire to explore different uses
for the golf course property owned by the City. In November 2020, City Council unanimously directed staff to engage the community to explore the feasibility of alternate uses, in addition
to continued use for golf. Given the proximity of the Mountain View Commons Campus, it is the City’s interest to explore complementary uses and plan for this site as well.
