Be Open to the World of the Unknown at HAUNTED HISTORIES & MYSTERIES OF PORT TOWNSEND. Our colorful town has many tales to tell—of shipwrecks, shanghaiing, lost loves, unexplained events and a haunted past that is felt even today. Come for a weekend of ghostly fun in downtown Port Townsend, at Manresa Castle and at several sites at Fort Worden State Park. The Fort sites include Alexander's Castle, the Schoolhouse and the Point Wilson Lighthouse and Duplex. Psychic readings with Ankhasha, Haunted Walks led by the Victorian Heritage Association and a rare opportunity for tours of the historic Hastings Building are also highlights of the event. Events have separate ticket prices. Free events for participants include an opening night mixer and a chance to share your own paranormal experiences. Be open to the possibilities... Event Headquarters: The Cotton Building, 607 Water Street, Downtown Port Townsend. Tickets are limited and will be sold on a space available basis at the Cotton Building. Food and drink are not allowed at the events, with the exception of water. PLEASE NOTE: Attendees are required to sign an event waiver. The event is open to those age 16 +. The two free events (Boo's & Spirits Mixer and Tell Your Tales) are held in bars and you must be 21+ to enter the bars. Please bring valid ID. COVID 19 POLICY- Ticket holders are required to wear masks at the indoor experiences, some events are held in close spaces. The paranormal investigations and Gallery Readings: "The Other Side" with Psychic Medium Ankhasha require masks. Masks are recommended for the Hastings Building Tours, but not required. Masks are not needed at the outdoor Haunted Walks. ADA INFORMATION: Due to the nature of some of Port Townsend's historic buildings, they have stairs and are not ADA accessible. These two locations have intriguing stories to tell! Alexander’s Castle was built in 1886 by John B. Alexander for his bride-to-be back in Scotland but unfortunately, when he returned back to Scotland to retrieve her, she had already married someone else. Alexander returned to Port Townsend and lived his life as Queen Victoria’s British vice consul and a prominent socialite until he moved to Tacoma. The castle was left in the care of the Klockers, who turned the castle into a rental property. It is said that one of the tenants who lived in the castle drowned by falling into the water cistern on the top floor of the castle. The Point Wilson Lighthouse dates from 1914 and has seen its share of shipwrecks. Lighthouse volunteers will be on hand to tell its story. The Lighthouse Restoration project requires architects, designers, contractors, construction crews, materials and much more — please consider making a donation to help restore this landmark. Serving as a downtown landmark for over 110 years. Charles Eisenbeis, the first mayor of Port Townsend, built this four-story business block in 1890. Recent paranormal investigations left the distinct impression that spirits from the past do not wander far from here. It is the site of investigations Saturday night, October 29th. Meet the descendants of Lucinda Hastings and have rare access to this iconic landmark building. The Hastings Estate Company, descendants of the original family, maintain ownership of the building and will be providing the tour, discussing their project for restoration. This building has steep stairs, is not renovated and has been vacant since the 1950s.
